The Inner City Foundation of New York, Inc. (ICFNY) is a 501©(3) nonprofit organization created to nurture educational and personal development opportunities for underserved children living in New York City by creating rigorous programs for their academic development. Our core program is the ICFNY College Readiness Initiative (CRI); a free college preparatory program that launched in May 2015. CRI an after-school program for students from low-income neighborhoods in Brooklyn, which includes the Bedford-Stuyvesant, Crown-Heights, East New York, and Brownsville communities. At the conclusion of the program, participants will have successfully completed the PSAT and SAT exams and experience academic growth toward college readiness, with a strong awareness of the STEAM disciplines.
We will continue implementing innovative solutions towards the major challenges facing education In New York City by building, funding and managing a network of academically rigorous, “green” (eco-friendly), state-of-the-art community educational centers throughout disadvantaged communities of the city. (The educational centers will have an emphasis on the arts and science.)
ICFNY expects to break ground on its flagship educational center in 2020. The center will be located in central Brooklyn, New York.
